Marks & Spencer is to try out a liquid nitrogen-powered transport refrigeration unit (TRU) on one of its semi-trailers as part of its CO2-reduction strategy. The zero-emission TRU, designed by clean cold technology firm Dearman, uses a liquid nitrogen-powered engine to operate the refrigeration system. The GMB union has started negotiations with agency Tempay about the rates of pay awarded to agency warehouse staff it supplies to DHL’s DC in Swindon run for Marks & Spencer.
