UK haulage operators are estimated to see £7.5bn wiped off their turnover this year as the “catastrophic impact” of the coronavirus continues, according to the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
Parcel delivery network APC Overnight made a £4.42m pre-tax profit last year, a 30.4% increase on the previous year’s figures. Turnover for the year ended 31 March 2012 rose 13.5% to £65.7m (2010/11: £57.9m) as a result of increased customer demand. Pall-Ex has signed its fourth European partner and launched its first all-new livery since Hilary Devey founded the pallet network in 1996. The new principal national partner, which can’t be named, will run Pall-Ex France as key-franchisee for the territory. Pall-Ex France will have a central hub in the Orleans region of France, and the new partner plans to be up and running by the final quarter of this year.
