Hermes opened its 160,000ft² Warrington hub last week, which is capable of handing 550,000 parcels per day. The £14m hub will help the operator expand its next-day and international delivery services, as well as increase capacity for the Christmas peak. Nightline is to invest €5m into the roll-out of its self-service parcel terminals across the UK, creating 50 jobs in the process. The Irish carrier says the funding will be used to set up the infrastructure for 400 Parcel Motel locker boxes that will all be operation by the end of 2014.
