Seafield Logistics has opened a new Immingham hub to store sodium carbonate imported from the US by customer Tata Chemicals Europe. The new warehouse holds 60,000 tonnes of sodium carbonate (soda ash) – a powerdy white salt used in glassmaking – which Seafield distributes to Tata’s customers in the East of the country. Seafield Logistics, which was one of 2014’s highest profile failures within road transport, has been dissolved bringing an official end to its story.
The liquidator for Seafield Logistics received unsecured claims of more than £7m.
The Green Group has successfully integrated into its business the Worksop warehousing division of collapsed Seafield Logistics that it acquired from administrators in July.
