Knights of Old has added the new Iveco Stralis Hi-Way to its fleet along with five Stralis Hi-Roads.

The 6x2 twin-steer tractor units all come with Iveco’s Driver Style Evaluation tool, which the manufacturer claims can help drivers follow a fuel efficient driving style and improve fuel efficiency by between 5% and 12%. The trucks will be put into operation with curtain-sided trailers.

They will be used in double shifts for up to five days a week and are expected to cover over 160,000km per year.

Knights of Old MD Ian Beattie said: “The new Stralis is a real head turner and the first time a lot of people see one it will be in Knights of Old livery.  It’s been attracting a lot of interest from our drivers already; they’re as excited as we are about its potential to nudge our fuel-saving performance up yet another gear.”

Since its merger with Mainland Group in November 2011, the operator has added 13 7.5- and 18-tonne Iveco Eurocargos to its fleet.
