Nottinghamshire operator B Taylor and Sons Transport has acquired its ninth warehouse.
Located at Bilborough, Nottingham, the warehouse offers Taylors’ customers secure storage with a capacity of 36,728m², five-dock level loading doors, a covered dispatch area, racking and lighting, eave heights ranging from six to 12 metres, with space for 12,000 pallets.
Speaking to Motortransport.co.uk, B Taylor and Sons’ sales manager Debbie Morris, said: “This is a very exciting development for us and is indicative of the standard we are aiming at for all our warehousing.
"This is a state of the art, modern, secure, fully managed, fully automated warehouse which represents a dramatic leap for us in what we offer in terms of warehousing facilities.”
B Taylor and Sons Transport, which also operates international trading arm Taylors Transport International, has a fleet of more than 200 trucks and 300 trailers. It employs around 300 staff.
“We are in the happy position of having a queue of people wanting to use our storage facilities as well as customers with specific requirements we couldn’t service before, such as pharmaceutical companies wanting very clean facilities, as well as others wanting value added services such as 'pick and pack', who can now use our facilities,” said Morris.
The warehouse, which opened this month, is located within three miles of junctions 25 and 26 of the M1 and four miles from Nottingham city centre.
Morris added that the warehouse expansion was also part of MD Alan Taylor’s wider strategy to expand the group’s footprint.
