Administrators appointed to Leeds-based Athena Civil Engineering have confirmed that its haulage arm, Athena Haulage continues to trade as normal.

A spokeswoman for RSM Restructuring Advisory LLP said Jamie Miller and Gareth Harris had been made administrators of the ground engineering and civils specialist.

However, Athena Haulage, which holds a standard national operators’ licence for a total of 10 HGVs out of two depots in Halifax and Batley, remains unaffected, as does Athena Plant.

Athena Civil Engineering is understood to have worked mainly on housing sites, for Barratt and Vistry.

Its last set of accounts, for the year ending 31 August 2019, showed that it had increased turnover by 35% to £36.8m and made a pre-tax profit of £486,249.
