Electricals retailer AO has opened a new site in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Opened last Friday (23 October), the 20,000sq ft site is AO's 20th depot in the UK and the third to open its doors in recent months, following expansion into Kent and Yorkshire.
AO confirmed it had experienced increased demand of late and that expanding its logistics network with new depots and distribution centres was key to maintaining service levels.
Located at the Sterling Centre on Eastern Road, the new depot has created seven onsite jobs with a number of positions available in the delivery driver crews.

The network of depots, known as ‘outbases,’ are supplied by the main distribution centres in Crewe, Stafford and Stoke. The nationwide delivery coverage aims to ensure that AO is never more than one hour away from customers.
AO Logistics MD David Ashwell said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve reached the milestone of 20 depots after opening three new sites in quick succession. The rapid expansion of AO Logistics is really a testament to the hard work of our people and we’re proud of how much we’ve grown in the past six months.
“The ease of shopping online for appliances has really stuck with customers and by owning our own logistics network, we’ve been in the best position to meet this increased demand. The new depot is in an ideal location to support our growth as a business – we’ll be able to serve our customers in Berkshire even better than before and it means we’re securing the best infrastructure for the future.”
