Amazon is to open a fulfilment centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire next year. It is the third new site the company has announced plans for in recent months.
As well as the Daventry site, which will create 300 jobs in the local area, the online retailer plans to open new centres in Tilbury, Essex and Doncaster, South Yorkshire, next year.
Once the new sites are open, Amazon will operate 14 fulfilment centres in the UK.
Amazon's vice president of UK operations, John Tagawa, said that as well as catering to increasing cusomer demand, the new fulfilment centres will enable Amazon to expand its product selection and support more third party sellers.
The Daventry site will be Amazon’s third in the midlands, joining sites in Coalville, Leicestershire and Rugeley, Staffordshire.
