AKW Global Logistics has spent £250,000 upgrading its Trafford Park warehouses.
Additional racking and a fleet of 16 Mitsubishi gas-powered forklift trucks featuring warning and impact sensors have been added following an original spend of £2m to add capacity for the group in 2010.

“Gone are the days of dirty old dusty spaces where companies would store a few overflow pallets; we strive to emulate and further exceed the blue-chip industries in-house supply chain solutions, which has won us the loyalty of industry giants such as L’Oréal,” said Paul Welsh, operations director at AKW Global Logistics.
The operator, which recorded a strong performance in the year to June 2016 in its latest published accounts, employs more than 400 people and has 795,000ft2 of operational capacity for storage and contract packing.
It runs 103 vehicles that deliver a full transport and distribution service comprising; full load, groupage, part loads and network freight.
AKW Global logistics is a shareholder member of both Palletline and Partnerlink.
