Isuzu Trucks has revealed the lucky winner of its CV Show 2014 competition to win a trip for two to Verona, Italy, as Steve Paige, director of drainage company ADC (East Anglia).

Located in the Fens region bordering Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, ADC runs a fleet of specialist service vehicles and tankers to carry out drainage operations such as silt clearance, relining and excavation and routine site maintenance.

Paige told Motortransport.co.uk  he was very surprised to have won the competition and it was the "icing on the cake" when he finally got to visit the CV Show, as he had been planning to go for a number of years but work commitments had prevented him.

He added that he visited Isuzu’s stand at the show to find out more about the manufacturer’s range of 7.5-tonners and 4x4 vehicles for a planned fleet refresh at his business. The competition was held on the stand of MT sister title, Commercial Motor.

Keith Child, marketing director at Isuzu Truck UK, said: "We were absolutely delighted at the response to our free prize draw and we received just over 1,000 entries in total. There were no catches, the entrants didn’t have to be current customers and, just for the record, the winner isn’t one. It was a simple game of chance. The winners are under no obligations to do anything ‘Isuzu’ when they’re in Verona, they can spend their time exactly how they want. We chose Verona because that’s the city closest to where all European Isuzu commercial vehicles are now built. No doubt the winners might see the odd Isuzu in Verona but ultimately we really want Mr. Paige and his partner to enjoy their city break.”

The manufacturer used the show to promote two versions of its brand-new lighter 7.5-tonner – the Urban N75.150 4x2 rigid - featuring Isuzu’s turbocharged four-cylinder 3.0-litre 148hp engine, as well as the latest Euro-6 version of Isuzu’s Forward N75.190 4x2 rigid, specified with an aluminium tipper body.

"Our current truck range comprises modern, stylish, economical, payload-efficient vehicles from 3,500kg up to 11,990kg GVW," said Keith Child, marketing director, ITUK. "The hard-working, well-established 3.5-tonne vehicles are ITUK’s Grafter range. All vehicles above 3,500kg are the Forward range, with the exception of the new Urban 7.5-tonner. The Forward range has vehicles at 5,500kgs, 6,500kg, 7,500kg, 11,000kg and 11,990kgs GVW."

Isuzu also revealed its return to the UK’s 12-tonne GVW truck market, introducing a Euro-6 version of the F-series with a weight-saving four-cylinder engine, theF119.240. Due to arrive in the UK in October, it will be available in four wheelbase lengths from 3,790mm to 5,320mm.
