H&B Logistics moves from UPN to Pallet-Track

Greater Manchester-based haulier H&B Logistics has joined pallet network Pallet-Track as part of a drive to grow the business.

Sales director Darren Platt told Motortransport.co.uk that the company had quit rival network UPN and joined Pallet-Track as part of plans to grow.

Platt said the company has already experienced rapid growth during the past 18 months after expanding its fleet and moving to larger premises at Westwood Business Park in Chadderton last year.

H&B Logistics employs 30 staff and runs 15 trucks and eight trailers.

Platt said: “Pallet-Track is bigger than UPN and gives us more opportunity to grow due to the extra pallet deliveries we can make.”

“We’ve grown our collections business significantly by increasing our own customer base and we want to reduce the number of empty wagons we are running by increasing deliveries.”

The company will cover the M postcode area for Pallet-Track, after Birds Transport & Logistics relinquished some of its postcode area for the network. Birds continues to cover postcode areas in Birmingham and Northern Ireland for Pallet-Track.

Platt said customer service was an important factor in the company’s growth: “We’ve been operating for almost 27 years and have been very successful thanks to the dedication we show our clients who will always receive our best efforts - whether they ship one pallet a year or 50 pallets a night.
