The Swain Group has announced the appointment of David Emslie as its strategic development director.
Emslie was most recently sales director at Canute Group, having served eleven years at the firm that was placed into administration ahead of this Christmas.
His employer said that in his newly established role Emslie will be responsible for further developing the company's range of services as well as increasing their scope where appropriate.
He will work alongside Swain Group commercial director, Matthew Sweet, based at the business’s headquarters in Rochester, Kent.
Emslie said: "This is an exciting challenge with great potential because of the dynamic spirit within the company and I am looking forward to positively influencing the future journey we take".
Swain Group MD Matthew Deer said: "We are delighted to welcome someone of David's calibre to our team.
“He brings knowledge, experience and strategic development ideas which will enhance our commercial and business development activities across the group and I am confident that the future growth of this key area of the Swain Group is in good hands".
Last autumn group company R Swain revealed that it had made its tenth acquisition during 2018 in the shape of Express Freight Services (Birmingham), as well as shaking up its boardroom with Deer coming in January 2018 to replace Paul Kavanagh.
