EV Cargo company Palletforce has become the first pallet network to offer a next-day service to the Isle of Wight with the addition of Hampshire-based Steve Porter Transport.

Providing express transport services to businesses in central southern England and the Isle of Wight from depots on the island and in Southampton and Portsmouth, Steve Porter Transport will also cover selected PO postcodes and the Channel Islands for the Palletforce network.

The company is the Isle of Wight’s largest independent freight carrier, having acquired ferry operator Red Funnel’s distribution division in 2011, and offers a bespoke cross-Solent drop-trailer operation from Southampton to East Cowes.

The 13th additon to the Palletforce network in 2019, it has more than 70 full-time staff and operates a fleet of 40 vehicles and 80 trailers. In August this year it became part of fellow Palletforce member Knights of Old’s portfolio.
