Europa Road, a division of Europa Worldwide Group, has spent £2m on 23 Renault Trucks after a successful two-year trial with RH Commercial Vehicles.
The Range T artics and Range D rigids are the first Renaults in the fleet, which also has 238 trailers.
Europa currently runs Volvo and Mercedes-Benz trucks, but it decided on Renault for the refresh after trialling seed vehicles on an extended trial. It said it was impressed by the MPG of the new generation of Renault engines.
The Renaults have been taken on full repair and maintenance contracts.
Europa domestic transport director Russ McNally said: “RHCV is an award-winning dealership, with an award winning product, and when we started working with them two years ago, we were keen to trial the trucks they had on offer.”
The trucks have front, rear and in-cab cameras and a load-securing system. They will work double shifts, night and day, serving customers in the UK and supporting the company’s continental European work undertaken by sub-contractors.
