Davis Haulage, part of the Davis Haulage Group that also owns Widdowson Logistics, has appointed administrators.
Insolvency experts from Leonard Curtis were appointed to the Crewe transport firm, which specialises in chilled distribution, on 23 December.
However, no-one at Leonard Curtis would comment at the time of publication.
Davis Haulage did not respond either, although Patrice Schneider, director at Birds Transport & Logistics – which is believed to have been sold in part to Widdowson Logistics before Christmas, said the development was “totally separate from the Widdowson/Birds tie up.”
The company has an O-licence authorising 54 HGVs and 120 trailers out of a distribution centre near junction 16 of the M6 in Cheshire, and it had been subject to a corporate voluntary arrangement since April 2016.
