Clugston Distribution has continued its commitment to its work with flour milling firm C Marston and Sons with a £1.2m spending spree on its tanker fleet.
The new additions include five Renault T640 tractor units for use on its food operation.
The Clugston Group subsidiary provides bulk flour transportation to C Marston and Sons' milling and cereal processing facility in Icklingham, Suffolk. The companies have been working together since 2013.
David Heath, head of logistics at Clugston, said: “We have committed investment of a further £1.2m this year developing our tanker fleet capabilities, with the aim of expanding our services to companies including those within the food manufacturing and processing sector. It’s pleasing to see the investment is having an impact.”
James Marston, operations manager at C Marston, said that since outsourcing its logistics operation to Clugston, the company had been able to “dedicate more of [its] time and finances into offering a quality product for all [of its] customers”, and enabled them to concentrate on its plans for the business.
