Clipper has continued its chain of fashion retailer contract wins, having signed a deal with new high street retailer Pep & Co. The Pep & Co brand is part of Pepkor UK, which was initiated by former Asda CEO Adam Bond in 2014 as part of the wider South African Pepkor group.
Clipper will provide warehousing and returns management for Pep & Co, as well as moving accessories and general merchandise from its distribution centre in Swadlincote.
Pep & Co plans to open its first UK store in July 2015, and hopes to have 50 stores open nationwide by the end of August.
It is the latest in a series of wins for Clipper, which has recently signed new contracts with Zara, John Lewis and Harvey Nichols.
Clipper’s founder and executive chairman Steve Parkin said: "We are delighted to have been selected to support Pepkor in the UK launch of its Pep & Co stores. This follows closely on the heels of several new contract wins for Clipper.
“This clearly demonstrates the very significant progress made by the group since its flotation last year. Our innovative, solutions driven approach to retail logistics makes Clipper class leading and the go to provider of logistics services in the UK."
Mark Jackson, CFO of Pep & Co, said: "We're delighted to bring Clipper into our Pep & Co team - they'll play a pivotal role in helping us deliver family fashion at amazing prices in our new high street stores."
