The UK’s first 27-tonne, curtainside battery EV has taken to the roads after construction sector supplier CCF launched the truck and raised the bar on environmental standards.
The company, part of Travis Perkins, spent three years working in collaboration with Electra in order to complete zero emission customer deliveries in London.
With a charge time of seven hours and the capacity to cover 120 miles on a full charge, the BEV has been awarded a five-star rating under the Capital’s direct vision standard after being fitted with sensors and alarms and a five-way camera monitoring system.

Catherine Gibson, CCF MD, said: “CCF is proud to have launched the UK’s first 27 tonne curtainside BEV.
“Being as sustainable as possible and investing in this vehicle is not only instrumental to CCF’s delivery operations across London, but will also help to reduce harmful emissions while contributing to the UK’s ambitious sustainability targets and journey to net-zero.”
