Boughey Distribution has seen turnover and profit boosted in the past six months following the consolidation of its Deeside operation into its site at Wardle, Greater Manchester.
Parent NWF Group revealed in its half-year results, for the period ended November 2014, that operational efficiencies had been delivered as the business no longer had to carry out trunking journeys and cross-docking between two sites.
Boughey’s turnover increased by 1.6% in the period to £18.8m, from £18.5m, while operating profit rose by 36% from £1.1m to £1.5m.
NWF Group chairman Mark Hudson said the Boughey business had performed well throughout the period and had navigated the “volatile” Christmas period. He added that the division would continue to focus on improving operating efficiency and utilisation of its site and fleet.
