Nottinghamshire’s B Taylor & Sons Transport has joined the Fortec pallet network after being inundated with volumes at Pall-Ex and TPN.
MD Alan Taylor said its fleet was handling up to 500 pallets a day but it was now dealing with a more manageable 150 pallets at Fortec.
B Taylor & Sons Transport had previously been with Fortec for nine years before leaving it to join Pall-Ex in 2013.
At the time, Taylor said the move was an opportunity to provide an improved and more professional service.
But he told MT this week he was pleased to be back at Fortec: “We would sooner be in a smaller pond, it suits our business better,” he said.

The move also signals a new phase of development at the 44-year-old firm, with the company building a 20,000ft² warehouse in Huthwaite and also includes its recent accreditation to conduct on-site driver training and testing after appointing its own DVSA examiner.
B Taylor & Sons Transport employs a 300-strong workforce, operates a fleet of 200 vehicles and 300 trailers and group turnover is in excess of £20m.
Kevin Buchanan, group MD at Pall-Ex, said: “The Pall-Ex network is built on business excellence and customer satisfaction.
"In order to maintain our quality ethos, we have replaced B Taylor & Sons Transport with a member that is committed to maintaining the high standards we have established within our network.”
