Pall-Ex

Pall-Ex has hailed new member Austin Wilkinson & Sons as “a top quality organisation” after it parted ways with rival network Palletline.

Kevin Buchanan, group MD at Pall-Ex said: “We are delighted to welcome Austin Wilkinson & Sons to the Pall-Ex network.

“I know James and the team from my time at Palletline; it is a top quality organisation whose addition will further strengthen the network and we are thrilled to have them on board.

“As both businesses share a passion for delivering quality services for our customers, James and his team will undoubtedly fit in well at Pall-Ex.”

The Atherton haulier, a member of Palletline for more than 20 years, was replaced by Bowker Transport. Bowker Transport was already a Palletline member but has expanded its coverage for the network.

It will cover the WN and parts of the BL postcodes for Pall-Ex.

Palletline group MD Graham Leitch said Austin Wilkinson had been “a great asset” and that its departure was “as a result of ensuring the future goals of both the network and member businesses are truly aligned” when the departure was announced last month.

Austin Wilkinson director James Wilkinson declined to go into details about the reason for the departure, but he told motortransport.co.uk: “We have been at Palletline for 22 years and we were a reliable member providing a reasonable service.

“Consequently, we have moved to another network and we will continue to provide that service to further our business.”
