APC Overnight is to hold a recruitment open day for former City Link staff tomorrow (6 January).
The parcel network plans to make up to 100 jobs available to former City Link employees. More than 2,300 staff at the failed parcel carrier are to be made redundant after it appointed administrators on Christmas Eve.
The recruitment day will be held tomorrow at APC’s national sortation centre in Cannock, Staffordshire, between 12pm and 5pm.
Head of human resources Emma Scott said: “We’ve organised the recruitment day to provide further information on the roles we currently have on offer.
"There are some highly talented people out there at the moment that are unfortunately now having to look for new jobs and we want to do all we can to make them aware of some of the opportunities that are available to them here at APC.”
APC said interested parties are encouraged to ring ahead on 01922 702544.
- TNT has also began offering former City Link staff the opportunity to join its team. It is also welcoming the opportunity to speak to former subcontractors who wish to take on pick-up, delivery and trunking work on TNT's behalf. Simon Harper, TNT UK director of operations said: “While it is unfortunate that City Link – one of our competitors – has ceased to trade, TNT cannot ignore the opportunity to draw on some of the expertise within the City Link business. Across our operation at TNT's three domestic hubs and at various locations throughout the UK we are looking to further recruit in our warehouses, traffic offices and in all driver categories. There is also a wide range of other positions available at, for example, our Customer Service contact centres where we continue to look for the right people to join our team.”
