The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has urged its members to voice their support for Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal.
“While recognising that the withdrawal agreement tabled by the government is not perfect and includes areas of compromise, if this is the mechanism that allows us to get over the line into a transition agreement, we welcome it,” said UKWA CEO Peter Ward.
“The prime minister is in an impossible position in trying to carry everyone with her, but the alternative of no deal is unthinkable.
"The country has spoken and leave means leave, as the prime minister has repeatedly said. However, from a business perspective it is vital that we have enough time to plan for transition," he added.
The UKWA has urged members to contact their local MP and express their support.

It comes as the association prepares to hold its Feeding Cities Summit, which will look at post-Brexit food logistics challenges, on Wednesday (21 November).
Taking place at The British Museum in London, UKWA’s summit will consider what is best practice in urban food service and local convenience grocery logistics, examine the challenge of meeting today’s technology-enabled consumer and deliver an insight into the current thinking of policy makers and planning experts.
“The Feeding Cities Summit is a chance for retailers, food producers and the wider logistics community to share knowledge and best practice experiences and, importantly, make their voices heard at a time when government policy makers are listening," Ward said.
