Zemo Partnership has announced the creation of a new Zero Emission Mobility Taskforce to add momentum to the road transport industry's transition to net zero.
The taskforce will produce a series of Zemo Zero Emission Mobility Roadmaps focused on key areas, including the transport of goods, and fuel and vehicle supply.
The move to create the taskforce follows a strategic review of Zemo Partnership, to coincide with its 20th anniversary.
It also comes as concern mounts in the transport industry at how the government's net zero targets will be met, with calls for more government support to help the logistics sector decarbonise.
Announcing the move, Zemo said it aims to harness its convening powers, developed over two decades, to engage the widest range of stakeholders, including its membership of more than 240 organisations; representatives of government at all levels; road user and consumer groups; NGOs and other sector experts.

Zemo Partnership said it is "uniquely placed to make this happen" pointing to its two decades of experience and the connections and collaborations across industry and government it has built over the years.
It called for "all those interested in developing a UK zero emission transport system for the future to join and take part."
The Zero Emission Mobility Roadmaps will focus around Zemo's existing working groups and will cover moving goods and services; sustainable fuel supply; infrastructure supply; vehicle supply; public mobility; and personal mobility.
To introduce the plans, Zemo is holding three webinars on the following dates:
- 12 September (10.00-12.00) Workshop One: Personal Mobility & Net Zero
- 14 September (11.00-13.00) Workshop Two: Decarbonising Public Mobility
- 19 September (10.00-12.00) Workshop Three: Moving Goods Sustainably
