Consolidated results for the Woodside Haulage group of companies show that the County Antrim operator saw pre-tax profit soar 42% last year.
The substantial increase to £1.4m, compared with £999,000 in 2014, was on the back of a healthy 6.3% increase in turnover to £54.6m in the year ending 31 March 2015.
The majority of sales were generated in the UK (£52.4m) with the remainder coming from the continent. MD Tim Woodside told MT the results were in line with expectations and in the group’s latest set of accounts it stated that “the level of business and the period-end financial position were satisfactory”.
The directors expected the present level of activity would be sustained for the foreseeable future.
Woodside Haulage is involved in general, full and part-load transport, autologistics, tanker services, air and sea freight, and warehousing. Woodside Haulage (Holdings) ranked 55 in the MT Top 100.
