Wincanton has added another Fuso eCanter electric truck to its fleet, this time to service a contract with Adidas in Manchester.
The 7.5-tonne truck is based at the company’s distribution centre in Trafford Park and will make regular deliveries in the city and surrounding area.
A regular destination will be Old Trafford and training ground Carrington, where Wincanton will transport kit and equipment for the players of Manchester United FC, as well as merchandise for sale at the club’s Megastore.
The eCanter can cover 120 miles on a single charge and carry 4.5 tonnes of cargo.

Andy Devere, Wincanton network director, said: “By using this vehicle, we’re taking a diesel-powered alternative off the road.
“This will help to make the environment better and the air cleaner for everyone that lives and works in the Manchester area.
In March 2018, Wincanton became the first UK 3PL to introduce production-level electric vehicles to its fleet, with five Fuso eCanters brought in for inner-city deliveries in London.
