The Big Green Parcel Machine is continuing to exceed Connect Group’s expectations.
Connect Group purchased the business, formally known as Tuffnells Parcel Express, late last year for £113m.
In a trading update for the 44 weeks to 7 July 2015, Connect said Tuffnells had continued its strong start within the group and “is ahead of management expectations, with total revenues increasing by 20.6% driven by market growth and new customers”.
Tuffnells is now under the leadership of Chris Ward, who has assumed the role of MD, replacing chief executive Lloyd Dunn who has become chairman.
In April, Connect said sales had risen sharply with almost 300 new customers being brought on board since Tuffnels was acquired in December, adding it was “delighted with its initial performance”.
Pass my Parcel
The trading update also said the group remained on course to have circa 3,000 Pass my Parcel locations by the financial year end. It currently has 2,400.
Pass my Parcel is a joint partnership with retailer Amazon to offer online shoppers a same-day parcel collection service.
The newspaper wholesaler and logistics firm is utilising its News and Media division vehicle fleet to deliver parcels into click and collect stores after deliveries of print products have been made.
