TNT Post has begun extending its end-to-end service in London and is seeking investors to fund the roll-out of the offer across the UK.
Parent company PostNL revealed that the operator is in the process of expanding its ‘final mile’ service into south west London, following successful pilot in west London.
The trial, which began in April 2012, has seen end-to-end mail and packet volumes averaging 600,000 per week.
PostNL is looking for co-investors to help fund the roll-out of TNT Post’s end-to-end operation across the UK, rivalling the service currently provided by Royal Mail.
A TNT Post spokeswoman sold Motortransport.co.uk that the firm was “committed to the creation of 20,000 jobs over the next five years”, through the expansion of the service.
Post NL’s Q1 results revealed that underlying revenue for the division grew 5% to €181m (£153m) in the first three motnhs of 2013, compared to €172m in Q1 2012.
