TNT Post will expand its final mile delivery service into Greater Manchester in November as part of its plans to roll-out a nationwide end-to-end network.
It will open 11 depots in Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Wigan and Bury when the service begins later this year, covering all households and businesses within the M postcode area. It will also launch a track and trace service for the first time.
It has been operating an end-to-end service in some areas of London since April 2012 and is currently seeking investors to help fund a nationwide service.
TNT Post is also looking to recruit 1,000 new employees before the service begins, including delivery staff.
CEO Nick Wells said: “The postal industry is undergoing great change and I am proud that TNT Post is able to create new jobs for people who need them and also to provide career opportunities for those who want to progress in a growing company.”
