TNT Express has spent £4.3m expanding its Park Royal depot in London.
Parcel processing capacity at the depot, which was previously able to process 40,000 parcels every week, has been increased by 50%.
The warehouse and vehicle yard space has been also extended by around 1,200 m² (12,916ft²), and a further 15 loading bays have been installed to improve efficiency and speed of processing parcels.
TNT said more regional services will also be routed into the depot, near Wembley, which it hopes will reduce its carbon footprint.
“This expansion demonstrates our ongoing commitment to investing in our infrastructure in order to deliver direct benefits to our customers via more flexible, responsive and efficient services,” said TNT UK MD Alastair Cochrane.
Last year, a shake up of its admin and finance divisions resulted in the loss of 237 jobs at TNT.
