Suttons Group is spending more than £6m on new tractor units– the first in the UK road tanker fleet to feature the company’s new branding.
The company is purchasing around 70 new Volvo FMs with Globetrotter XL cabs as part of a replacement strategy to upgrade the existing vehicles, along with new tanker barrels and isotanks.
The cab specification has been modified from 2017, with extra-large cabs featuring an upgraded audio package and fridge.
John Sutton, CEO Suttons Group said: “We are the UK’s largest bulk chemical logistics company and are continuing to grow with a number of key business wins. It’s therefore vital that we invest in the latest equipment and technology.
“The £6m investment is part of our 5-year strategy for growth and the modernisation of our business. As part of this, we have refreshed our brand to represent our focus on advanced technology, excellent customer service and our continued focus on safety.”
In 2017, more than 200 tractor units were bought by the group, costing £17m.
Suttons plans to update liveries across the whole fleet within the next five years.
