Aztec Logistics is riding the wave of enthusiasm in the UK for authentic Italian food after striking a deal with the country’s biggest importer of pasta, Specialist Foods.
The company, which is also the UK agent for food brand Pasta Garofalo, said demand for southern Italian pasta has continued beyond the panic buying of the first lockdown and orders had not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels.
It has now forged a partnership with Pallet-Track member Aztec to manage its UK storage and onward distribution.
Stuart Charter, Aztec MD, said: “Specialist Foods and the high-end brands it represents needed reassurance that their products are in good hands and will arrive at their destination in pristine condition.
“We have a good relationship based on trust and expertise in the food market that can flex to the demands of not only securing supplies during a global crisis, but providing that level of response while maintaining the highest standards.”
The Letchworth Garden City-based haulier recently retained FORS Gold standard for the fifth consecutive year.
