Partnerlink, the haulage consortium that counts Knights of Old, AK Worthington, Viamaster Transport and David Hathaway Transport as members, has launched a European service.
The 18-strong UK consortium, which also features Owens Road Services, John G Russell and R Swain & Sons on its roster, is now offering services between the UK and France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Italy, having teamed up with six partners on the Continent.
MT can reveal three of the European service partners are TSA (France), Vorex (Holland) and M&F (Germany).
John Davidson, director of Partnerlink, said: “The benefits we have seen from Partnerlink have been huge. Partners can offer a next day solution to anywhere in the UK, all at competitive prices, and with a quality service that our customers demand.
“It was only logical for Partnerlink to mirror this same success and branch its services out to the European market. We are very excited at the prospects,” he added.
Prior to the official launch, the partners have worked together on several contracts. Davidson added: “It is through strong partnerships and cooperation that all partners will grow.
“Giving customers what they want can be tough so sometimes you need to be working with like minded people that can support your business and your future plans.”
Partnerlink Europe has 3,800 trailers, 5,000 staff and 750,000m² of warehousing space at its disposal. Consistent with its UK counterpart, it will be focused on the environment, with efficient planning, no central hub, minimal cargo handling and the exploration of joint procurement.
