Palletforce has set up a ‘Brexit Taskforce’, which aims to give members advice and assistance to ensure they are prepared and ready for the country’s departure from the EU.
It said it was relying on the network’s knowledge of international shipping and customs formalities, as well as parent company EV Cargo’s divisions, to address last minute concerns.
David Breeze (pictured), Palletforce’s commercial and international director, said: “In a year in which our members have been rightly preoccupied by concerns over the impact of Covid-19 on their businesses, it has been easy to forget that Brexit is looming.
“The fact is, however, that many new processes will come into force with regard to European markets and we all need to take steps to prepare for them.”
As well as providing clear guidance on the new requirements post-Brexit, the Taskforce will provide helpline assistance for members with specific queries.
Breeze added: “While the fine print of the Brexit departure has yet to be confirmed, we are monitoring developments closely and will of course keep all of our members informed and provide support to ensure they continue to offer the best possible services to their customers.”
