EV Cargo’s Palletforce has added two new members to its express freight distribution network in the south of England.

Local experts JMCL Freightways and Express Transport will take over selected SO and GU postcodes to help strengthen Palletforce’s network in the region.

Based in Southampton, JMCL Freightways operates from a range of UK ports, including Felixstowe, Tilbury, Liverpool and Immingham, and has recently diversified into palletised freight delivery.

The haulier will cover southern GU postcodes, around Alton and Petersfield, and SO postcodes around Alresford. It will also use its Palletforce membership to expand port-centric distribution services.

JMCL Freightways MD Nathan Jupe said: “It’s the first time we’ve joined a pallet network, but we’ve always known that Palletforce was the best.

“Being part of Palletforce is a major part of our strategy to grow revenue by increasing the amount of container unloading we can do and being able to redirect palletised traffic to a credible and successful network.”

Meanwhile Express Transport, which was formerly a United Pallet Network (UPN) member, will take on a dense GU postcode area around Aldershot and Farnborough using its 25-strong distribution fleet.

It sees its move to Palletforce as an opportunity to enable further growth from its new state-of-the-art facility in Farnborough.

Mark O’Reilly, director at Express Transport, commented: “Palletforce has the UK-wide presence and distribution capacity that we have been looking for in order to grow our business.

“But what has really impressed us is the calibre of its membership, which includes many of the industry’s leading haulage operators. We are delighted to be part of such an outstanding network.”

David Breeze, Palletforce network development director, said: “Once again Palletforce continues to stay ahead of the game and this double recruitment means we have secured ongoing service excellence in a challenging area.

“The addition of JMCL Freightways and Express Transport not only introduces two new members to the network but, crucially, it ensures we continue to offer our members and their customers the service they demand as we continually strive to ensure our network boasts the best member operator in every postcode.”
