Palletforce said it had boosted its service along the south coast following the recruitment of cross-channel specialist Ferryspeed.
Covering selected PO postcodes around Portsmouth, the company is the fourth member to join Palletforce this year, after JMCL Freightways and Virginia Hayward Logistics signed up to the network and it acquired Dobbs Logistics.
Ferryspeed operates a twice-daily shipping service to the Channel Islands from its base in Portsmouth and Palletforce said it would provide members with long-term service continuity.
“We’re very excited to welcome Ferryspeed to the network,” said David Breeze, Palletforce network development director.
“Their addition is of significant strategic importance for our members and their customers.
“Not only will they allow us to further strengthen our service on the south coast, but they’ll provide our existing members with a competitive advantage and create commercial opportunities to grow their business in the area.”
Ferryspeed employs 250 staff and has a fleet of more than 280 vehicles and 500 trailers. It also has depots in Jersey, Guernsey and Leicester.
