Pall-Ex-supports-Ukraine-crisis-by-utilising-its-European-network-_ABL3614-2S-678x381

Pall-Ex Group has challenged its 165-strong UK and Irish membership to raise £1,000 each as part of an appeal campaign to support the humanitarian work being carried out for people in Ukraine.

The network said it was utilising its network to help the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) for its newly launched #PLXUKRAINE appeal.

Every member company has been sent a letter encouraging them to get involved and raise £1,000 or equivalent “in any way they can”.

Pall-Ex Group’s own efforts will see group chief executive Kevin Buchanan, UK MD Barry Byers and international MD Mark Steel take to the stocks where they will be pelted with wet sponges by anyone who wants to make a donation.

The DEC brings together 15 leading charities in the UK to provide an efficient and effective way of raising funds to deliver vital aid to victims of crises overseas.

With hundreds of thousands of people fleeing Ukraine with only the possessions they can carry, DEC charities and local partners are ensuring they have food, water, warm clothes and the medicines they need.

Buchanan said: “We have all seen the horrendous developments in Ukraine over the last few weeks, with millions of people being forced to move further west or even leave the country.

“The DEC carries out incredible work, so we must use our platform to support it as much as possible.

“#PLXUKRAINE shows that if we all work together, small actions can achieve incredible results.”
