Linkline Transport has expanded into the home delivery sector in response to the challenges posed by Covid-19 and is relying on Mandata’s cloud-based software to keep track on parcels.

The Fortec member said its existing ADR, trunking, air and sea and specialist contract work has all been streamlined using Mandata’s Transport Management System (TMS) and it is helping keep customers and the Northampton-based firm fully informed at all stages of the supply chain.

Tom Ball, Linkline general manager, said: “Coronavirus has triggered a surge in home deliveries and our recent move into the home delivery market is well timed.

“We drew the logical conclusion that Mandata’s real-time vehicle tracking and electronic proof of delivery would be equally as effective to keep tabs on individual parcels as it is for pallets and general consignments.”

Linkline Transport is soon to open a purpose-built 140,000sq ft warehouse, which will consolidate its existing facilities into one depot.
