UPS has pulled out of its €5.16bn offer for TNT Express – in a deal that would have created a business with a combined annual turnover of £1.3bn in the UK – blaming  European Commission (EC) concerns with the acquisition. City Link extends partnership with Secured Mail

City Link is to extend its relationship with postal service Secured Mail from mid-February to include mail items. It already collects larger packets and parcels from businesses and the new collaboration allow it to extend the service. Secured Mail accesses Royal Mail mail centres and collects its customer’s mail. Advanced Supply Chain turnover leaps 57%

Advanced Processing, which trades as Advanced Supply Chain, took another step towards its target of £100m turnover by 2016, after a revealing a 57% rise in its most recent financial year. For the 12 months ending 30 June 2012 turnover rose to £28m, from £17.5m in the previous 12 month period. DHL Supply Chain has won a £14 million contract renewal with Travis Perkins Group, which will see it handle 160,000 deliveries per year. The three and a half year contract extension will see the firm manage national transport operations from the builders merchant’s Northampton DC, moving 20,000 loads annually.
