Redhead International opens Northen Ireland depot

Redhead International has officially opened its new depot in Northern Ireland’s Mallusk. The opening ceremony on 27 July was performed by Northern Ireland’s executive minister for regional development, Danny Kennedy. The new 33,000ft² facility features a 20-tonne overhead crane for heavy lifting, as well as office space. Autologic prepares for Stobart takeover

Trading in shares in Autologic will be suspended on 9 August as Stobart Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stobart Group, completes its acquisition of the firm. On 18 June Stobart made an offer of £12.4m- the equivalent of 20p per share – for the automotive logistics firm. Both parties had been in talks since 24 May. Roadways Container Logistics back in the black

Roadways Container Logistics has returned to profit despite a fall in turnover and a warning  that rates in the market remain depressed. For the year ended 31 December 2011, Roadways achieved a pre-tax profit of £319,000, compared with a pre-tax loss of £697,000 in the previous year. London 2012: UPS makes final delivery of media equipment

UPS has completed its final delivery to the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and Main Press Centre (MPC) at the Olympic Park. As a result the equipment for 21,000 media representatives is now all delivered, set up and in place for the start of the Games. Movianto to be sold to US firm Owens & Minor

Medical 3pl giant Movianto is to be sold by parent company Celesio to US firm Owens & Minor for €130m. Celesio says it wants to divest of logistics arm Movianto, which has been part of the German-based company since 2004,  to concentrate on its core sectors of pharmaceutical wholesaling and pharmacies, which accounts for 95% of the group’s business. Pre-tax profit up 60% at Saints Transport

Airfreight specialist Saints Transport has reported a 60% increase in pre-tax profit for the year ending 31 December 2011. The firm, whose revenues rose 4.7% to just under £23.2m last year, revealed a profit before tax of £1.48m, compared to just over £922,000 the previous year.
