Pall-Ex Polska set to launch next year

Pall-Ex Polska is set to launch in Poland in May 2013, the pallet network has revealed. KMC-Services has become the network’s latest network partner as part of its ambitious European expansion plans. Pall-Ex is aiming to have a 15-strong European network in place by 2015, and Polska will be the company’s fifth European partner. It comes after Pall-Ex Romania went live in December last year. London 2012: cabbies plan third strike tomorrow (27 July)

Some of London’s black cab drivers are set to demonstrate tomorrow (27 July) at 5pm at Hyde Park Corner in protest against restrictions being imposed on them during the operation of the Olympic Route Network (ORN). FTA has been advised by the Metropolitan Police of the planned demonstration as it is anticipated that there will be disruption in and around the area. Police are talking to the organisers and a proportionate policing plan is in place to manage the situation.

London 2012: Olympic Route Network now live for next 21 days

Operators delivering into and around London are reminded that the Olympic Route Network (ORN) is live as of today (25 July) and will remain in place until 14 August. All traffic can use the vast majority of the 109-mile long ORN, it is just the dedicated Games Lanes that are reserved for accredited Games vehicles and on-call emergency vehicles. UK derogation gives12-month Euro 5 extension

The UK has secured a 12 month derogation for Euro 5 trucks, enabling operators to delay registration of new Euro 5 trucks until the end of 2014. Euro 5 trucks built before 30 September 2013 will be allowed to be stockpiled and registered up until the end of 2014, though all Euro 5 trucks built from October 2013 must be registered by the end of 2013. Ford joins FTA Van Excellence scheme

Ford has become the latest CV manufacturer to sign up the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme. Launched in 2010, the voluntary scheme offers accreditation to those operators who can demonstrate high quality fleet management and systems compliance. FairFuelUK push for fuel investigation passes 15,000 mark

FairFuelUK (FFUK) has received more than 15,000 signatures of support in the past day backing its call for an investigation into the UK fuel market.
