ND renews Tesco recycling services contract

Norbert Dentressangle has renewed its contract with Tesco to manage 12 of its recycling service units (RSUs) and won a new contract to maintain the retailers loose equipment fleet. Seafield Logistics pops Cornscape win

Worksop, Notts-based Seafield Logistics has won a contract with popcorn manufacturer Cornscape that will see it deliver products to retailers, cinemas and rental shops. As a result of the contract Seafield’s Worksop depot will receive in excess of 30,000 pallets a year including raw corn and ‘Popz’ corn containers from the US and Europe. Culina scoops Gu Desserts contract

Culina Logistics has won a chilled warehousing and primary distribution contract with Gu Desserts, part of the Noble Foods Group. The Shropshire logistics firm says it won back the Gu Desserts business, which was a previous customer of Culina, due to a collaborative arrangement splitting operations between the food manufacturer’s Walthamstow site and its own Haverhill DC. Advanced Supply Chain wins three-year Matalan contract

Advanced Supply Chain (ASC) has won a three-year contract with Matalan to handle the fashion chain’s pre-retail distribution. The deal will see ASC deliver approximately 10 million garments a year to Matalan’s DCs. The Bradford firm says it won the contract after its audit of Matalan’s supply chain, which identified the need for additional pre-retail operations in the UK to improve stock availability. Widdowson Group picked for Waitrose Midlands logistics

The Widdowson Group has been appointed as the Midlands logistics partner for Waitrose, the first time a third party has been selected by the supermarket to cover this region of the country. Hermes has been awarded a five-year contract with fashion chain New Look to handle the home delivery of the retailer’s e-commerce orders. Delivering more than three million parcels per year to UK households, the goods will first be collected from New Look’s fulfilment hub in Lichfield, Staffs, before being transported to Hermes’ NDC in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. NFT wins Adams Foods primary distribution deal

NFT has beaten rivals to a primary logistics contract with Adams Foods, that will run for a minimum of three years. Operated from NFT’s flagship Daventry DC, the deal will include the handling of more than 3,500 pallets per week of cheese and butter products, including Kerrygold and Pilgrims’ Choice brands. Acumen Distribution wins recycling contract extention

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has extended its contract with Acumen Distribution for kerbside collection of household recyclable waste until 2016. As part of the extension Acumen will now conduct two weekly collections from public bring sites. Acumen has assigned two additional compactor trucks for the new weekly collections, which will join seven other vehicles at other times for regular kerbside collections.
