Lloyd Fraser expands fleet after fashion win

Lloyd Fraser Group has placed a 55-truck order with rental firm Ryder following a major 3PL contract win with an undisclosed fashion retailer. The order comprises 45 rigids – 16 Daf LF 7.5-tonners and 29 CF 18-tonne box trucks – which will be used on multi-drop delivery work, as well as 10 Renault Premium 44-tonne tractor units, which will be used on overnight trunking runs to the company’s five hubs. Seafield Logistics wins screed distribution contract

Notts-haulier Seafield Logistics has won a two and a half year contract with floor screed manufacturer Lafarge Gyvlon. The win adds to Seafield’s contract with Gyvlon to distribute its products to Ireland, which it has held since July 2011. The new contract will also see Seafield add five vehicles and trailers to its bulk tanker fleet. DHL takes a five-year slice of Warburton’s primary logistics

DHL Supply Chain has won a five-year contract with Warburtons to manage the bread-maker’s primary logistics supply chain. The deal will see DHL set up a control tower operation, based at Warburtons’ Bolton site, which will manage the distribution of up to two million loaves of bread, rolls and crumpets daily between the manufacturer’s 12 bakeries and 13 depots across the UK. Atchison Topeka (AT), part of Bibby Distribution, has renewed its bulk tanker liquid contract with chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut – a contract it has held for 15 years. Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has won a £100m, five-year deal with electrical retailer Comet to handle its UK warehousing and distribution. The contract involves ND managing store picking, dispatch and returns management at Comet’s RDCs in Skelmersdale, Lancs and Harlow, Essex. It will also bulk pick product for trans-shipment into Comet’s network of 12 home-delivery platforms. Palletways has won a £2m, 12-month rolling contract with Better that will see the network move some 70,000 pallets a year. Culina Group has acquired the supply chain activities of Cert Octavian for an undisclosed amount, as it continues with its strategy to double the business in the next five years. The deal will see Culina Logistics’ parent taking over Cert Octavian’s distribution and warehousing contracts, facilities and staff, which will expand the group’s network to eight ambient DCs across the UK. Clipper Logistics has won a new contract with Swedish children’s clothes retailer Polarn O. Pyret. It sees Clipper provide logistics from its Ollerton facility, as well as a warehousing arrangement that will allow expansion of Polarn’s current product range and offer store replenishment it its second phase, reducing the lead time of stock from Sweden.
