DHL Supply Chain signs £75m contract extension with BP

DHL Supply Chain has won a six-year contract extension, worth some £75m, with BP’s UK Convenience Retail business. Under the contract, DHL will provide warehousing and distribution services to BP’s 350 company-owned forecourts across the UK, handling 19 million cases per year of 1,400 product lines. DHL also provides frontline support on order and delivery queries for BP’s company owned stores. Lloyd Fraser Group has placed a 55-truck order with rental firm Ryder following a major 3PL contract win with an undisclosed fashion retailer. The order comprises 45 rigids – 16 Daf LF 7.5-tonners and 29 CF 18-tonne box trucks – which will be used on multi-drop delivery work, as well as 10 Renault Premium 44-tonne tractor units, which will be used on overnight trunking runs to the company’s five hubs. Notts-haulier Seafield Logistics has won a two and a half year contract with floor screed manufacturer Lafarge Gyvlon. The win adds to Seafield’s contract with Gyvlon to distribute its products to Ireland, which it has held since July 2011. The new contract will also see Seafield add five vehicles and trailers to its bulk tanker fleet. DHL Supply Chain has won a five-year contract with Warburtons to manage the bread-maker’s primary logistics supply chain. The deal will see DHL set up a control tower operation, based at Warburtons’ Bolton site, which will manage the distribution of up to two million loaves of bread, rolls and crumpets daily between the manufacturer’s 12 bakeries and 13 depots across the UK. Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has won a £100m, five-year deal with electrical retailer Comet to handle its UK warehousing and distribution. The contract involves ND managing store picking, dispatch and returns management at Comet’s RDCs in Skelmersdale, Lancs and Harlow, Essex. It will also bulk pick product for trans-shipment into Comet’s network of 12 home-delivery platforms.
