019-NAS-John-Connell-Awards-2021-All-Award-Winners

Freight operators are encouraged to enter this year's Noise Abatement Society (NAS) John Connell Awards to highlight efforts made in reducing the sound made by deliveries into urban or residential areas.

The awards, often dubbed the “Noise Oscars”, are now in their 20th year and this year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday 19 October at the Palace of Westminster in London.

Sir Peter Bottomley, Member of Parliament for Worthing West and Father of the House, will be the MP host for the event.

A 'Quiet Logistics' category is open to operators, vehicle manufacturers, trailer-makers, bodybuilders and equipment suppliers that have created quieter products, services and programmes to facilitate safe, low-noise and efficient urban distribution services in the past year.

Whilst the ‘Silent Approach’ award recognises significant advances in industry awareness and best practice to reduce noise from operations and logistics. This award is for organisations which have developed proven noise reduction programmes, whether through the adoption of quieter transport modes, low-noise ancillary equipment, staff training or other pro-active noise-awareness initiatives.

Previous winners include fleet operators Lawsons, Pets at Home and Martin Brower.

Head to the NAS website to find out more about the awards, or email johnconnellawards@noise-abatementsociety.org if you have any questions.
