Davies Turner is building a 140,000sq ft logistics hub on the edge of Atherstone in the West Midlands.

It said the multi-user hub would rival in size its largest site in Avonmouth and will feature a high bay fully racked area, with a top location level of 17m and eaves height of 15m, suitable for VNA forklift operations.

The site will be able to hold 18,000 standard pallets, leaving around 20,000sq ft of spare locations for stacking cartons or pallets by the ground floor pick spaces.

There will also be 15 loading docks and two level-access doors providing access to the warehouse and room to park 30 HGVs.

Davies Turner chairman Philip Stephenson said: “This will add to our very large freehold property portfolio that is self-funded in a clear and ongoing demonstration of the company’s willingness to invest in the future of our business.

“The development marks the next step towards growing our logistics business and freeing up some space at our other facilities in the midlands for general freight.”

The site should open in Spring 2023.
