Global e-commerce technology provider Doddle has rolled out self-service kiosks to help retailers and carriers handle online returns.

It said the hardware provides customers with automated, package-less, label-free returns in less than a minute. Doddle said most merchants lack the ability to develop their own returns system and therefore its kiosks solved the problem.

Customers select start on the touchscreen; scan the return QR code and then place their return into packaging provided. A label is printed by the kiosk and customers apply it to their item and place it in the drop box.

Doddle said carriers can use the kiosks to form part of a wider returns solution and benefit from increased efficiency through consolidated return parcel volumes, as well as a reduction in carbon.

Tim Robinson, Doddle CEO, said: “Our research shows that 94% of retailers see making returns better as a priority for their business.

“However, most merchants won’t have the ability to develop their own returns solutions in-house.

“By solving this problem for merchants, they can deepen their relationships, win additional new business thanks to a more complete e-commerce proposition and enable their merchant customers to succeed in e-commerce, driving long-term parcel volume increases.”
