Europa Worldwide has opened its first office in Liverpool as it expands its presence in the North West.

The move is part of a £500,000 investment to increase its UK European road freight sales network at its Europa Road division.

The company said it was attracted to Liverpool by the number of manufacturers in the region, estimated to be over 3,000, that contribute £3.2bn to the local economy.

Europa's Liverpool office, located at the Royal Albert Docks, opens with a team of five. The new office is headed up by branch manager Carolyn Hough, an experienced logistics professional with over 20 years sales experience.

Hough has previously held senior posts at RH Freight, Currie European Transport and, more latterly, Dachser Intelligent Logistics.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to lead the great new team here in Liverpool. I was attracted by Europa’s ambitious plan for growth for the European road freight division. We’re a small team to start with but we’re still on the lookout for further recruits and hope to have a team of ten by the end of the year.”
