Maritime Transport has strengthened its senior management team with a series of new appointments, including former non-executive director Chris Lewis, who joins as deputy chairman, after leaving his interim post as chief executive of the Port of Felixstowe, 12 months before the end of his contract.
Lewis, whose former posts include UK chief executive for DP World, brings nearly 40 years’ experience in the ports, terminals, and shipping industry to his new role.
Announcing his re-appointment, Maritime Transport said Lewis’s brief is to help the business to foster “closer relationships” with the ports industry and mentoring the “next generation of Maritime executives”, the company said.

Other management appointments at Maritime include Matt Heath who has been promoted from fleet sales general manager to fleet sales director, Michael Carr who joins from Jackson Civil Engineering to take on the role of Maritime property general manager and Craig Moore who has been appointed as commercial general manager.
Moore’s previous post was MD at White Stores. Before that he was head of supply chain and commercial at DP World London Gateway.
